Sinkers is Building a Larger Store!

June 21, 2016

A longtime fixture in East Nashville is more than doubling its space and expanding its offerings as the business builds a new store to better fit the city's revived area.

Sinkers Wine, Spirits and Beer, one of the oldest businesses on Gallatin Pike, built in 1962, will construct a new 2 level structure on its current lot using two vacant spots in the Sinkers shopping complex this fall.

"It's going to look totally different," said owner Bill Sinks about the planned 20,000 square-foot building.

The work will shift the store from the middle of the shopping complex to the lot on the corner. The move also will increase parking with the additional use of the lot adjacent to the current Sinkers space.

It will be a huge improvement, and we are very proud to enhance this growing, thriving, and eclectic neighborhood of East Nashville with one of the finest wine, spirits, and beer stores.

Bill Sinks, who bought the business in 1985, said the new store will feature several new items, including:

  • More than 10,000 square feet of wine, spirits and beer
  • Expanded selection of wine and beer
  • Largest beer cooler in Nashville
  • 24 beer and wine taps with growler service
  • Top 50 cigars sold in the United States
  • Regular spirits, beer, wine and food tastings
  • Boar’s Head meats, cheeses, and other specialty items
  • YETI items
  • Extensive keg selection

It will be a one-stop shop in the East Nashville area.

Sinks said the main level of the new store will hold about 10,015 square feet of selling space, while the bottom level will include 10,015 square-feet of warehouse space.

Construction on the new store is slated to start this fall and last about six to eight months. Sinkers will remain open during construction to accommodate their customers with the best selection of beer, wine, and spirits in town.

Not only will Sinkers be building a new and improved store, but the entire shopping complex will receive a facelift with a new facade featuring: stacked stone, beautiful siding, antique lighting, modern LED lighting inside and out, all new lighting in the parking lot, and so much more.
